Red Devils are afraid of us – Mancini

Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini believes Manchester United are wary of the threat posed by the Eastlands outfit.

United defender Patrice Evra aimed a swipe at City ahead of Wednesday‘s derby at Eastlands, claiming their neighbours are all talk and no action.

The Frenchman claims United are not worried by City‘s boasts of usurping them as the best team in the country and that the derby is not as big a game for the Red Devils as it is for their local foes.

However, Mancini believes City are now serious rivals to Sir Alex Ferguson‘s side – and reckons United are well aware of the competition.

”I think that they now know we are a strong team,” Mancini told a press conference broadcast on Sky Sports News.

”I think the situation has changed in this moment.

”We have a lot of respect for United, a lot of respect for Fergie because he is the top manager in the world but we understand that we can better them always now.

”I think it will be a good game.”
