Mr. Ibu’s Kidnapped Family Members Still At Large

As many are still basking in the euphoria of a brand new year, Nigerian actor and comedian John Okafor better known as Mr Ibu is on his toes, finding a way out of the kidnap pandemonium that struck his family late Tuesday (January 4, 2010) evening with kidnappers reportedly abducted his entire household, demanding a N50million ransom to release his wife, 14 month old baby, brother and sister-in-law in their custody.

NET sources say the victims were driving to their Enugu home when the abductors pulled their car and whisked them to an unknown destination.

When NET spoke to the Lagos State Police Spokesman Frank Mba on the telephone, he expectedly refused to give any information on the incident.

‘I don’t have any information and I am not competent to speak on that’, Mba tells us.

Efforts to reach both the actor (Mr Ibu) and the Enugu police command as at press time proved abortive but sources in the know have confirmed to NET that the victims have not been recovered.

‘They have not been found but the police officers are combing the city to fast-track their recovery’, our source quipped.

OBASANJO COLLAPSES IN CHURCH!!!

Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, who twice ruled Nigeria, once in the 1970s and then for eight years starting in 1999, collapsed today at the St. Stephens Anglican Church in Igbotako, Ondo State.

The fainting incident took place at about 12 noon, Nigerian time, at a thanksgiving service in honour of Major General Olu Bajowa (Rtd), an Obasanjo protégé who is celebrating his 70th birthday.  Major General Olu Bajowa was once indicted for mismanaging the Nigerian airways.

Model offered N10m to act nude -Model.

In this era when many female artistes easily fall over themselves, ready to do anything, including acting nude or even selling their bodies, to make quick money, a Port Harcourt based model, Nancy Wuzor, has revealed that she actually rejected a N10million naira offer to act nude.

The 20-year-old orphan, who returned to the country last weekend, models for De Delicacy, owned by De Delicacy Magazine and Hotels, based in Israel. She spoke to us during her visit to the orphanage in Port Harcourt where she donated food items to the inmates.

Excerpts:

 Two years ago, I received a message on my Face book, offering me N1omillion naira to act nude. Then, I was 18 years old. I actually played along with them, to know the details of their plans. These are well known people, but I wouldn’t want to reveal their identity. They were probably attracted by some of my pictures.

“When I saw the massage on my face book I thought it was a joke, until we started the discussion on phone. I backed out when I realised that they were actually serious with the offer.”

Following the passage of the Fuji icon, Alhaji Sikiru Ayinde Barrister in the early hours of Thursday, December 16, 2010 in a London hospital; his corpse which was initially expected in the country on Saturday, December 18, and later penciled for today (December 20), is as we write, yet to arrive – with all hopes still high in anticipation of the remains of the deceased.

A family source who spoke to NET in anonymity noted that different things (which he refused to enumerate) have been stalling the corpse from arriving the country ‘like today all flights in Europe were canceled because of bad weather – we’re hoping the air will be certified safe to fly soon’, the source tells NET.
