David Beckham is close to fulfilling his dream by owning his own football club in America.
Under the terms of his contract with LA Galaxy and the MLS that runs out in November next year, Beckham has an option to purchase an existing club or create a new one.
Becks, 35, will be a free agent next year. He knows that despite his veteran status he will receive a deluge of offers from clubs in the US, England and Europe ready to exploit his status as a football icon.
But with his family settled in Los Angeles it looks increasingly likely that Beckham will buy a club and extend his playing career in the United States.
The former England captain has all but ruled out going on loan in January despite widespread interest from Europe and notably from clubs in the Premier League.
